Kodak is out with its fourth-quarter and year-end earnings, and the phrase of the day is "in the black." The company posted a small profit during October, November and December - the first in many quarters. But the net earnings $16 million represent a significant turnaround of $62 million turnaround. (Kodak lost $46 million in the fourth quarter of 2005.) Have a look at the release directly. One thing to note is that much of the turnaround has to do with diminished restructuring costs compared to a year ago. What this means is, to use a cliche, the rubber is about to meet the road: The company is going to have to show the ability to grow with the businesses it has in hand.
