Grab Bag of Items
Some items worth mentioning on a sunny Friday:
- Kodak and others say growth in the digital camera market is starting to level off. But this introduction suggests cameras are not a product going away anytime soon. Disney Consumer Products, the consumer arm of Walt Disney Corp., is offering a new line of digital cameras for kids and teens. According to Disney, the cameras and camcorders are available in themed designs for all ages including High School Musical, Cars and Pirates of the Caribbean. Some of the cameras sell for as little as $19.99. Disney's cameras may not be attractions for very advanced photographers, but they are not technological slouches either: One model gathers images at three megapixels, enough to print 5x7 or 8x10 pictures.
- The next great change in habits may come in the cellphone. According to a report in Forbes magazine, Apple Computer may be about a half-year away from introducing its own cell phone, which will apparently be available in three colors -- white, black, and platinum. The phone will integrate communications capability with Apple's iPod digital music technology. Read the report here.
